The basic system can be installed as a stand alone product either during the trailer build or as a retro fit product. The benefits of the bulkhead winch are it improves the speed of discharge bulk materials on a walking floor and also saves the driver having to climb into the rear of the trailer to clean out any residue of the product.
The system comprises a hydraulic winch which comes with polyester webbing which can be attached to either an aluminium or tarpaulin bulkhead, the winch is driven by a special free wheeling hydraulic motor which is controlled via a directional valve which has both solenoid control and a manual lever override, there is also a double check normally closed solenoid check valve which is energised to allow the motor & winch to free wheel when the walking floor is operating so allowing the bulkhead to move with the load. Once the load has been discharged the check valve is de energised and the directional valve is energised to enable the bulkhead to be winched back to the front of the body, the speed control is done via a pressure compensated flow control valve which is mounted in the pressure line before the walking floor, this can be adjusted to suit the operator.
For easy retro fitting the bulkhead winch can be operated by micro power pack this saves the installer having to break into the existing hydraulic lines and means the winch remains totally independent from the trailer hydraulics.
